About the Lighting Research Center

  The Lighting Research Center (LRC) is    part of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute    of Troy, N.Y., and is the leading    university-based research center    devoted to lighting. The LRC offers the    world's premier graduate education in    lighting, including one- and two-year    master's programs and a Ph.D.    program.                  Conan O'Rourke

Mr. O'Rourke is a technical director at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Lighting Research Center, and director of the LRC's National Lighting Product Information Program (NLPIP). He oversees the LRC's work in testing and evaluation of energy-efficient lighting products and technologies. Mr. O'Rourke is an expert in lighting measurement and electrical testing, fluorescent systems compatibility, and photovoltaic lighting systems
