About the Lighting Research Center
The Lighting Research Center (LRC) is part of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Troy, N.Y., and is the leading university-based research center devoted to lighting. The LRC offers the world's premier graduate education in lighting, including one- and two-year master's programs and a Ph.D. program. Since 1988 the LRC has built an international reputation as a reliable source for objective information about lighting technologies, applications, and products. Peter Morante, B.S.
Education:
B.S. Electrical Engineering, Norwich University, Northfield, VT.
Research interests:
Lighting technologies and applications that are desired by customers and provide improvements in energy efficiency.
Background:
Prior to joining the LRC, Mr. Morante was Marketing Manager for Northeast Utilities. His responsibilities included market research, market and product development and product management. Mr. Morante also oversaw the detailed development and implementation of Northeast Utilities' award winning energy efficiency programs from 1989 to 1997 as Manager, Conservation and Load Management Programs. In this capacity, he has provided expert testimony on a number of energy efficiency matters before the U.S. Department of Energy and the Connecticut and Massachusetts utility commissions.
