Manufacturers Can Use Lamp-Ballast 'Matrix' for ENERGY STAR The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and the American Lighting Association (ALA) have developed matrices of lamp and ballast combinations that, when used in residential lighting fixtures, are designed to meet certain ENERGY STAR? performance requirements as defined in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR for Residential Light Fixture Eligibility Criteria, Version 3.2. ENERGY STAR has agreed to accept the NEMA/ALA Platform Matrix in lieu of applicable lab test reports as long as the protocol detailed in the documents on NEMA's Web site are followed. EPA has reserved the right to request actual lab data for any required test at any time from any party. The fixture manufacturer is ultimately responsible to meet all ENERGY STAR reporting and documentation requirements. On NEMA's site, you will find complete details of the NEMA/ALA Lamp and Ballast Platform Matrix, including: Electronic Ballast Matrices |
